GOODBYEEE 🙃

Hello all again my friends 🥰

How are you?

I hope you are all well 🌸🌸

I’m not here with a new assignment today. Because this semester is over now. I am currently writing this post from my hometown, Adana😊

Time flies so fast, doesn’t it? We have come to the end of another semester. As you know, we did many assignments during this period. First of all, I would like to thank Gökçe KURT for giving us all these assignments and introducing us to new technologies in each of them. When I look back at my blog, each post has a different meaning for me.I gained a lot of information from each of them. Sometimes we had difficulty while doing it, sometimes we got tired, but we had very good experiences. I will be able to go back to my posts and remember them whenever I want.

Generally speaking, while we were more in the role of “student” in last year’s assignments, we were in the role of “teacher” in this year’s assignments. Last year, we were the ones using technology. This year, we tried to be people who “make people use” technology.

When we became a teacher, we saw many different ways how we could make language learning more effective using Technology. Just like last year, I can say that these assignments contributed a lot to me this year too. We have done many useful studies such as Corpus, flipped teaching, VR and AI integrated teaching. Each of them taught me something different. My favorite assignment was making a Flipped teaching video btw.

Now, I would like to talk about Sümeyra Aslan,💙💙 who has been mentioned in all my posts this term. She is my best friend at school and we were in the same group for all assignments this semester. It’s really fun to work with her. I send my thanks and love to her from here.

I don’t know if I will ever be given an assignment for a blog again. I’m not sure if there will be more of these blogs.  If I continue, of course let you know. We have gained so many experiences and memories so far. Thank you for being with me throughout this process.

Wishing your life to be filled with beauty and success…

I love you so much🥰

Take care of yourselff 🌸

LEARN ENGLISH WITH AI

Hello all again my friends 🥰

How are you?

I hope you are all well🌸🌸

We have prepared AI integrated teaching material in this assignment. I will briefly tell you about this process. As you know, AI has now begun to be used and widespread in every aspect of our lives. You can improve your foreign language skills in many different ways using AI. If you want, you can practice speaking with AI avatars, study grammar, or design various activities for many different skills. You can check your mistakes and get feedback.

In this assignment, we prepared a worksheet for 9th grade students and created an ASSURE lesson plan. The lesson starts with a matching activity, where students have the opportunity to review and remember places they have previously studied. After students create a map using AI, they prepare questions based on the map, again using AI. Afterwards, everyone exchanges papers with their partner and answers. Thus, students design their own activities with artificial intelligence. In addition, students see an example of the advantage of AI in foreign language teaching.

Actually, this week was quite busy because there were finals. We had to study constantly and that’s why it took a little longer than usual to prepare the assignment. But we solved it together with my groupmates. We worked again with the same friends from the previous assignment. You can access the blogs of Fatma Reyhan Tuğ, Rabia Serra Bozkurt and Sümeyra Aslan by clicking on their names. We worked very harmoniously with my groupmates. I thank all of them from here.

Btw, I hope you like the worksheets and lesson plan. Don’t forget to click on it to review it 🤩🤩

I love so muchh

Take of yourselff 🌸

LET’S EXPLORE PARIS :)

Hello again everyone. 🤩🤩How are you?

I hope you are all well🌸

Today I am here with a new assignment. This week we designed a material using AR.

Let’s talk a little about AR. AR stands for Augmented Reality. 360 videos are an example of this. By watching 360 videos, students can examine them in a much more enjoyable and easy way. We can move the camera as we wish and thus see the places we are curious about. Isn’t it great?😎😎

In the material, we introduced Paris using 360 video. We introduced two different landmarks (Eiffel Tower and Norte Dame Cathedral), 1 museum (Louvre Museum) and 1 festival (The Taste of Paris). For each of these, we gave brief information. Afterwards, we put a QR code for them to watch 360 videos. We did not forget to ask a few questions that the students would answer after watching the video.  Finally, we gave a short homework.  You can access our material here.

In addition, as in other assignments, we prepared a lesson plan according to the ASSURE model. I have also mentioned this model in previous assignments. My close followers will remember.😉😉 You can click here to see the ASSURE Model lesson plan.

Now I want to tell you about my new groupmates. We worked with Reyhan, Serra, and Sümeyra on this assignment. During this semester, we had the opportunity to work together for the first time. It was very nice to work with my groupmates. You can access their blogs by clicking on their names. I think you should definitely check it out, they’re all great.

Yes, that’s all I have to say for today. By the way, the next assignment will probably be the last assignment this semester. Time flies so fast, doesn’t it?

See you in the next assignment 🤩🤩

Take care of yourself 🌸🌸

MAKING A FLIPPED TEACHING VIDEO

Hello everyone, how are you? 🥰

I hope you are all well 🌸

In this post, I will talk about the flipped teaching video we made. First, let’s find out what flipped teaching is. In short, we explain the subject to students with videos and practice in class. While watching the video, students can pause it wherever they want, rewind it, and watch it over and over again. Additionally, when they go to the classroom, they can easily ask the teacher any questions they may have. Did you see? Isn’t it quite advantageous?😎😎

But if I look at it from a teacher’s perspective, I can say that it is quite difficult.🙃 Now let’s take a look at the process we live in. In this assignment, we aimed to teach vocabulary related to movie types. As in the previous assignment, we worked together with Sümeyra Aslan and Servet Zayif.

First, we wrote a dialogue and voiced it. Then we created animation using animaker. We wanted to give an informative section at the beginning of the video. But we realized that the dialogue thing wasn’t as logical as we thought. So, our first attempt failed.😢😢

Afterwards, we started to prepare a more informative and instructive video. This time, we created animations much more easily using Canva and we recorded our voice. In our video, we first talked about movie types, put posters, and emphasized two different words in the sentence for each type. Also, we repeated the same words twice so that the student would be more exposed to them😊.We also organized a practice activity. And finally, we prepared a quiz that can be accessed via QR code. Additionally, while preparing the video, we made sure that it was appropriate for 5th grade students’ level.

I think it is a very educational and entertaining video.🤩 You can access our video from the link here. I hope you like it.

That’s all for today my friends, see you in the next post 🤩🤩

Take care of yourself 🥰

Goodbyeeeeeee 🌸🌸

Designing Materials Using Corpus

Hello everyone, how are you?

I hope you are well 🥰🥰.

In this post, I am here with the first assignment of this term 🤩. We did this together with my friends Sümeyra and Servet and we used corpus while doing it.  If you want to see their blogs, you can click on their names😊.

By looking at corpus, you can see many examples of the uses of a structure or word. We searched for example sentences of will and be going to using the CorpusMate website. We also designed materials using it. We thought of the students as a preparatory class and designed it accordingly. If we talk briefly about our material, I can say that it consists of 5 pages, and on the first page there is an activity in which we will test the students. Afterwards, there are sections on using and benefiting from the corpus, followed by some activities related to will and be going to. We also gave importance to interaction between students and different learning styles in material design. While doing the assignment, of course we encountered some problems , but we solved them by talking to each other.

In addition to the material, we also prepared a lesson plan and did it according to the ASSURE Model. You may not know what the ASSURE Model is, that’s okay 😊. I think you will have more or less an idea when you examine the lesson plan file here.

I think the material is very easy and suitable to use in the course. Instead of a boring lesson, it will probably be a fun lesson with lots of activities. If there are no technical problems such as power outage or device failure, I don’t think there will be much of a problem. Additionally, I believe it will be a productive lesson as students will learn to find and use different example sentences related to the subject.

These are what I want to talk about in this post. Don’t forget to review our material by clicking here.

See you in the next post🙃

Take care of yourself 🥰

GOODBYEEEE🌸🌸

HELLOOO AGAINNNNN

Hellllooooo everyoneee

I am back😎

It has been a long time to see you. Did you miss me? I missed you a lot.🥰🥰

How are you? I hope you are all well.🌸

You may remember that I shared many posts with you here last year. I made an assessment in almost all of these posts above. Thanks to these assessments, I gained a lot of information about how to use technology in education. I learned many different useful sites and shared all the processes with you here. Sometimes I worked as a pair, and sometimes I worked alone, we immortalized many beautiful moments here.😊

I guess I can say that we are at the beginning of the period now. We have a long process ahead of us. This year, we will use technology in education again. We will use different tools, and we will complete some assessments again. I hope we will have a very productive and fun term.😍

Our adventure continues where it left off, if you missed my posts, if you are wondering how to use technology in education, if you love English and want to improve yourself, stay tuned.🤩

Assessment posts will be with you soon 😉

I love youu 🌸🌸

Goodbyee 😊😊

GOODBYEE 🙃

Hello My Dear Friends,

How are you? I hope everything is okay. There is no new assignment in today’s post. Because we have come to the end of the semester and the homework is over🙃. Now I want to talk about this entire blogging process and the Instructional Technologies course that caused us to create this blog and post. So, let’s start

First of all, I must say that when I first started this course, I did not expect that I would be so intertwined with technology. I thought it was a more theoretical course, but I’m glad it wasn’t. In fact, when I was given blog assignments, I sometimes felt stressed and sometimes had difficulty. But now, when I look back, I see that I have accumulated good memories. Each of the assignments we did provided me with new information from different perspectives. I think I liked crocheting ribbon the most among the homework we did. During group assignments, we met with my friends – usually Sümeyra – at various places, did our homework and had fun times. I would also like to say thank you to Sümeyra Aslan🌸 .

After taking this course, I realized that I did not know many sites that could be used in education.  But now I know that I can do many different activities on many different platforms using technology. If I become a teacher in the future, I will try to present the lesson to my students in the best way possible with technology.

Before finishing my last post, I would like to thank my teacher Gökçe Kurt Tiftik, who made me experience all these beautiful things I mentioned above. She took us one step further towards becoming a good teacher candidate for the new generation of students 😊. I would also like to thank her for always teaching with the same smiling face in all her lessons. I am normally a very stressed student, but the fact that my teacher Gökçe always teaches with a smiling face and in a friendly manner makes me feel very comfortable. If I become a teacher one day, I hope that I will be a smiling and sweet teacher like her 🌸🌸.

Yes friends, this is how I completed the last post. We have come to the end of this blog opened for this course.  Thank you for being with me throughout this process.

Maybe one day you’ll see me in a different concept on another blog 🙂 Who knows? 😉

Take care, goodbyeeeeee 🥰🥰

Talking with Emir from The Kite Runner

Hello My Dear Friends,

Our assignment this week was about doing an activity using AI. We had to chat with a book character or historical figure of our choice using a site called Magic School. We had the option of doing this assignment both individually and as a pair, and I chose to do it as a pair. I think you can guess who my pair is 😊. Of course, my classmate Sümeyra Aslan 🌸. You can access the file here. Frankly, this assignment was quite stressful as I had a final exam next week because I had a lot of lessons to study for. But we still progressed well😊. If you want, let’s go into some details now.

Have you read the book The Kite Runner? In fact, it is one of the most read books in Turkiye and it is a book that Sümeyra and I love very much. We made a common decision and wanted to talk to Emir from the kite runner. We asked the Emir various questions and received answers. Then, we wrote a report and rearranged it according to the feedback given by AI. You can review our chats and reports here. Now I want to tell you some of my thoughts about magic school.

Talking to someone we actually want to talk to but are impossible to talk to sounds pretty good. But frankly, the answers given by Emir are not what we expected😕. He gave very long answers even to questions that required short answers. And usually the first paragraphs of the answer given were the information we read from the book. But he still gave us the answers we wanted at the end of the answer. Additionally, his use of various body movements, facial expressions, etc. in his answers made the speech more realistic. In my opinion, foreign language students can chat with any character they want, whenever they want, wherever they want, and talk as if they were talking to a real person and consequenty, they can contribute to their language.

You also know that AI is now active in our lives and new things are produced every day. AI can also be used in language learning to improve many skills such as speaking, writing, feedback and listening. The Magic school I mentioned above is just one of them. However, AI sometimes does not give the answers we want, sometimes it adds very long and irrelevant things. In this case, the process may not be as efficient as we would like. But in conclusion, AI is now the peak of technology and I believe that when used efficiently, it will produce very good results in language learning.

And finally, I am a teacher candidate and I need to be well versed in the use of AI. Of course, I would like to encourage my students to use various sites and applications like this in the future. Additionally, I think that such activities will attract the attention of students as they go beyond the ordinary😉.

I know this post is a bit long. I hope you’re not bored. If you have read this far, congratulations ahskjjdkjsjks🌸🌸.

Goodbyeee 🥰🥰

Migration in Turkiye

Hello my friends 🌸 ,

How are you? I hope you are doing well 🥰. Our homework this week was a collaborative writing task. We had to write the assignment in groups of 3 people. We worked with Sümeyra Aslan, whom you know from previous posts, and Hayrunnisa Azbay, the new member of the group, on this assignment. You can also take a look at Sümeyra’s and Hayrunnisa’s blogs. Since I’m in the same class as them, there are commonalities in our blogs.

We did not have much difficulty in choosing the topic. We chose the topic of migration, which all three of us agreed on, and limited it to “Turkiye”.First, I created a padlet account and created a wall. Then I sent the link to Sümeyra and Hayrunnisa. Thus, we began our writing adventure.

Since we had never used padlet before, at first, we tried to learn the site a little🙃. We made three different sections on the wall. In the first part, we stated what we know about the subject, in the second part, what we wanted to learn, and in the last part, we stated what we learned. While writing what we learned, we briefly summarized it and included the link to where we learned the subject.

To be honest, I was nervous at first because I didn’t know much about the padlet, but then the process became more fun. We made additions and corrections as we learned new information. We had some technical problems, but we solved them somehow. The result was a very colorful wall. If you want to review this work and read something about the subject, you can access our padlet wall here. I hope you enjoy it🥰🥰.

Thanks for reading, goodbye 🌸🌸

CROCHETING A RIBBON

Hello again, my dear friends,

How is it going? Hope it’s fine. These days, I’m busy with homework, classes, and trying to solve some personal problems in my life. Our assignment this time is digital storytelling. We worked together with my friend Sümeyra Aslan on this task. I also mentioned her in the previous post. You can also check out her blog here.

We showed how to make a ribbon in the video. Since Sümeyra is someone who loves knitting, we thought it would be nice to make such a video. At the beginning of the video, I showed the necessary materials. In the following seconds, Sümeyra knitted the ribbon and I recorded it. We both sang the video for equal length.

Since the video should be a maximum of 2 minutes, we made a small decoration. We shot the video with a phone and sometimes had problems focusing the camera. We had to go to a different place because the light in the place we were in was insufficient. Shooting the video was both stressful and fun. We had a lot of fun with Sümeyra during the dubbing phase. We edited the video using the Capcut application.

We uploaded the video to Sümeyra’s YouTube account. She also makes song translations on her YouTube channel. I recommend you take a look at it too.

That’s all for today.

Take care and don’t forget to watch the video here.

Goodbye,
